BETHMOUR ROAD UPDATE

Bethmour Road is currently closed between Route 67 in Woodbridge and Pine Brook Crossing in Bethany due to a failed culvert beneath the roadway.

The pipe beneath the road has deteriorated to the point that it can no longer safely support vehicle traffic. For the safety of residents, motorists and emergency responders, the road will remain closed while the Towns of Bethany and Woodbridge work together to assess the damage and develop a replacement and repair plan.

At this time, the duration of the closure has not yet been determined. We understand this may be inconvenient and appreciate the public’s patience as both towns determine the full scope, cost and timeline for the necessary repairs.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Additional updates will be shared as more information becomes available and a repair timeline is established.

7/1/2026 - Extreme Heat Warning

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for most of Connecticut from Wednesday afternoon through Saturday evening. Dangerously hot conditions, with heat index values up to 112, are possible. Governor Ned Lamont has activated Connecticut’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol.

Please take precautions:

Stay hydrated and avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day
Spend time in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible
Check on older adults, neighbors, and loved ones who may be especially vulnerable to extreme heat
Never leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle
