June is here, and it’s time to license your dogs!
As a reminder, all dogs 6 months of age or older must be licensed with the Town Clerk each June, in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes.
This year, we are pleased to announce a new partnership with Permitium to make dog license renewals easier and more convenient for residents. This new online system allows dog owners to quickly renew or apply for licenses from the comfort of home. The updated online process is designed to simplify submissions, reduce paperwork, and improve turnaround times for issuing dog tags.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the online option, especially ahead of the busy summer season and upcoming travel plans. Kennels, groomers, and boarding facilities are now required to verify that dogs are properly licensed before accepting them.
Dog licensing fees help support local animal control services as well as statewide rabies prevention and spay and neuter programs.
